Drugs

Vid #1
Observations Short
Simple
Monotone
Close camera angle

Inference
Low-budget
Easy to make
The object of the commercial was simple
It didn't want to distract the viewer

Vid #2
Observations
Young girl
Wide camera angle
Small kitchen
Plain kitchen
Quiet at first then very loud

Inference
Low budget
Wanted to get viewers attention
Designed to startle
Intended to make you think

The short commercials are very different in their approach of the same message. The first is very simple. It doesn't have anything visually stunning about it. It just plays out and then the viewer starts to think after the video is over. It asks a question, "any questions?". This simple question forces the viewer to think about the message behind the video. The second commercial is also rather plain. It is a bit confusing. As the young girl smashes various objects in the room, the viewer tries to grasp what the girl is saying. Why is she crashing the pan into the dishes, the glasses, and the sink? All of these actions serve to communicate the message behind the commercial. The message is not spoken plainly. It is meant to be discovered on an individual basis. Both are effective methods.

Beijing Beijing

Picture #5 (the last picture)

Streamers rising from a tower in the center of the arena
Bright lights shining up and out of the Bird's Nest
Not an empty seat in the whole house
Athletes from all nations gathered in the middle
A blue and White projection on the ceiling

This ceremony took may hours of preparation
Thousands of people worked behind the scenes
Millions of dollars were used to create the ceremony
The ceremony is emotional
People all over the world will remember this for years to come

It is China's finest hour as the 2008 summer Olympics in Beijing come to a close. The closing ceremony is visually magnificent. Lights shoot towards the sky like bolts of lightning. Thousands upon thousands of individuals come together to make this night a success. China seeks to show the world that it is one of the supreme super powers on this planet by making their opening and closing ceremonies the most stunning and well planned ever. The number of individuals used to create the overall effect is larger than any other Olympic production ever. China spent the last several years working to make sure that this night was perfect. Mission accomplished.

-Lid

-Black ink inside

Inferance:
My pen reflects my personalty perfectly. It is simple in its construction. It is not beatuiful or eligant. It never fails to do what is required of it. It stays where it is supposed to. It does not require attetion to feel needed. It was not an expensive pen. There may be many pens that look like this pen, but it has characteristics that make it unique in its own way. The pan knows its place and functions as it should without any prompting.
